Tournament Rules

BNP Paribas embraces mix gender equality, participants should treat opponents and the referees respectfully on and off the field.

Tournament Structure

  • 32 Teams in knockout doubles format
  • Week 1: Top half of draw matches
  • Week 2: Bottom half of draw matches
  • Referees to assist with rules and match officiating

Preliminary Round Match Format

  • First to 10 points
  • 12-minute time limit per match
  • Sudden death point at 9-9 or if scores tied at time limit

Finals Series Format (Quarter Finals onwards)

  • Traditional tennis scoring system
  • Detailed finals format to be confirmed
  • ⁠Match duration extended

Essential Padel Rules

Ball Play

  • Ball must bounce on court before hitting walls/fences
  • During serve: Ball may hit wall after bounce but never the fence
  • Regular play: Ball may hit both walls and fences

Serving Guidelines

  • Cross-court serve required
  • Ball must bounce before hitting below waist height
  • Two serve attempts allowed
  • Ball must not hit side fence after bounce on serve
  • Server must remain behind service line

General Play

  • Double hits are prohibited
  • Safety wrist strap mandatory
  • Net contact (body/racket/accessories) results in immediate point loss

Additional Tournament Guidelines

  • Warm-up limited to 3 minutes
  • Official tournament balls provided
  • Referee decisions are final
  • Appropriate court attire required

Fair Play

  • Respect all officials and opponents
  • Call your own lines honestly
  • Maintain sportsmanlike conduct
